Capacity Building:
We organize training programmes and awareness camps to the community members on Thrift and Saving, Self help Groups, Panchayath Raj Inistitutuions, Grain Banks management, Hiv/Aids, Disaster Preparedness, Agroforestry, Microfinance, palm leaf articles etc. to build up their capacities.

Grain Banks:
We are providing support to community to establish and manage Grain banks in the tribal areas. These grains banks are providing food security to the tribal communities during lean season. We ensure community contribution for the grain banks in the form of constructing the Grain Banks . |

Revolving loan funds:
We provide interest free revolving loan funds to both tribal and fisher folk communities which they rotate among them selves for small interests and take up income generating programmes. This enhances their income levels. |
|
Sheep rearing :
We provide support the tribal women to take up sheep rearing programme as a group activity. This helps them to improve their income levels.
|
|
Hiv/Aids :
We create awareness among the fisher folk and tribal communities on Hiv/ Aids and it’s prevention. We organize separate camps for the school children on hiv/aids and this is through kalajatha prograammes. As Hiv/Aids is very much rampant in the District we take up this activity to prevent the infections.

|
Personal hygiene:
We are organizing number of trainings on personal hygiene and water & sanitation to the triabals with the support of Unicef. Number of awareness camps were organized on the disadvantages of open defecation and on the need of low cost sanitary latrines.

|
Medical camps:
We organize medical camps in the interior tribal target villages during the rainy season as they suffer with malaria, diarrhea, hepatitis and common fevers during this season and no medical facilities are there within their reach. Qualified Doctor will treat the patients and we provide free medicines to the patients and there is good response to the medical camps every year. |

Agro-forestry :
We provide support to the tribal communities of our target villages to take up cashew plantation in their own wasted lands. This programme one way protects the environment and on the other way it is a sustainable income generation activity for them. Every year we facilitate the tribals to grow 100 acres of Cashew palantation. |

Community Nurseries:
We provide support to the tribal communities of our target villages to grow nurseries in which they grow seedlings like tamarind, cashew, bamboo, black fruit, mango, subabul etc. They plant these seedlings in their own wasted lands. This programme one way protects the environment and on the other way is an income generation activity for them.

Disaster preparedness [DP]:
We provide trainings to the fisher folk communities on Disaster preparedness as they frequently suffer with the cyclones, floods and the tsunami in 2004. They lost their lives, property etc. To help them to mitigate the impact of natural disasters we provide them trainings on Disaster preparedness which helps them a lot to mitigate the impacts of Natural Disasters.

DP with Children :
We provide trainings to the children separately on Disaster preparedness as the children are the main victims during natural disasters and they also face risks during peace time. Hence we provide separate trainings to them on Disaster preparedness in the fisher folk community.

Exposure Trips :
We send the leaders of our target fisher folk and tribal communities for exposure to the other NGOs who are successfully implementing the programmes with some special approach.

|
Staff review meetings:
We conduct staff review meetings once in every week on Saturdays and review the progress of the programmes. In these meetings staff will give their weekly reports on the work done during that week and the action plans for the next week. They will be given suggestions in the meetings to improve their performance for achieving good results.

|
Cultural Programmes:
We use cultural media for affective communication to create awareness among tribal and fisher folk communities on many issues like hiv/aids, child labor, Early child marriages, water & sanitation, environment degradation, malaria etc.
|
|
Micro-level Plans:
We are facilitating the community to prepare the micro-level plans in the target villages. Through this the community is identifying their own problems and finding out the solutions for the problems and taking responsibilities to address their problems.

|
Water Shed Management:
We have supported the tribal communities in 4 tribal villages to construct the low cost water harvesting structures in Rampachodavaram and Devipatnam Mandals . They are the water tanks and the dug out ponds and the community is contributing labor as their contribution. The revetment for the tank bunds is loose in nature. These structures are providing the water resources for the poor tribals to improve their agriculture. The staff gives the report basing on the work done in that week and they will be given suggestions for improvement. They submit the action plans for the next week and accordingly they work in the next week.

Child Labour eradication:
We are working for the eradication of child labor in the fisher folk target areas in East Godavari District with the support of Plan International. There is high percentage of child labor is prevailing in the target area.

|
Water & Sanitation :
We are working on Water & Sanitation in Rampachodavaram and Devipatnam Mandals particularly focusing women and children.
|
|
Iron Removal Plants :
We have facilitated the triabal youth to construct 23 Iron removal plants in different triabl villages in Rampachodavaram , Devipatnam and Gangavaram Mandals in East Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh with the support of Care-Step. These iron removal plants are useful to remove the iron content in the Ground water and helps the triabals to have potable water.
